***** Clix and Trix very own Dog Garden is now open *****
The 'Clix and Trix Dog Garden' is a fully enclosed quarter of an acre paddock where you can walk your dog away from other dogs, people, cars etc. You can book your slot by either calling or through our Facebook group.
There is ample parking and toilets available on site and even a dog groomers, pet shop, sweet shop and a tea shop too so why not come down for a visit.
We have so much for your dogs to enjoy, there are toys to use, fresh drinking water, paddling pools to cool off in and play equipment to use not to mention lots of free space to run in.
Only £5 per hour per family, the garden is at our new Training Centre at the Windmill Shopping Village, Yapton Road, Barnham, Bognor Regis, PO22 0BD. If you would like to book a slot in our 'Dog Garden' please contact me either via here or through our Facebook group.
We run socialising play sessions a few days a week, these are a fantastic way of encouraging your dog to play and mix with other dogs, they allow your dog to gain confidence and important social skills.
Policies and Procedures for Dog Garden Use
We have put a number of Policies and Procedures in place for using our Dog Garden, this is to ensure the safety and well being of everyone using is. They are as follows:
I am keeping the Dog Garden within our clubs ethos, this is a FUN and FORCE FREE zone. Any harsh handling or bullying behaviour - physical, verbally or mentally towards your dogs there will be an instant ban. I do not condone it and I don't agree with it so please respect my club and your dog! I am more than happy to have a chat with you about better methods and training techniques and offer a discount scheme if you hand over adversive training ‘tools’ like slip leads, semi chokes, full chokes, prong collars, electric collars and spray collars. There is NO room in my club for these!
Dogs MUST be kept on leads until you are past the second safety gate.
I would appreciate it if you could keep bitches in season at home, it only causes arguments with the boys who may be visiting the garden after you.
You MUST keep your dogs in your car until the dogs who are using the garden before you are safely in their car, this will reduce the chances of dogs going over threshold and making their time at the garden stressful. We want to keep everyones time there FUN!
A non refundable payment must be made in full when booking your desired time slot, refunds will NOT be given for any reason. If you fail to turn up for your slot you will lose your payment however you are more than welcome to rearrange your booking but I need at least 2-3 hours notice.
The cost of hire is £5 per family NOT how many dogs you have. If you come along with a friend thats absolutely fine but the cost would be doubled to £10 and so on.
You have booked an hour slot, please ensure you have left the garden by the time your time slot has ended as there could be someone waiting to use it. If you turn up to use the Garden at your booked time and someone is using it (looking like they’re not about to leave!) PLEASE contact me, as they may not have permission to be there!!
You MUST pick up after your dog, if you have multiple dogs please ensure you are watching all of them intently until they’ve all been to the toilet. You must be physically able to pick up after your dog and be able to control them safely getting from your car to the garden and back, if you need support with this please bring a friend! There is a poop bin available to use for dog mess and poop bags to use too so no excuses. Failure to do so will result in a permanent ban. Nobody likes scraping dog poo off their shoes!!! If you come across a pile that wasn't your dog, if you wouldn't mind lifting it and binning it and then letting me know so I can find out who it belonged to that way you wont get the blame! Our poop bin will be emptied weekly by a company called PAWS who recycle dog poop into energy (see their Facebook page for more info). There is no rubbish bin so please take your litter home with you.
You are entering the Dog Garden at your own risk just like you would when you walk through the woods! I have of course ensured the garden is as safe as possible but in the event of an injury/escape YOU as the owner are FULLY responsible. I will NOT be held responsible for any kind of injury or escape by yourself or your dog. If you feel there is something that ought to be changed please do contact me, I’m always open to suggestions to make it a better place for our dogs to enjoy themselves. I have made it as escape proof as humanly possible! Its advisable that you insure your dog for obvious reasons.
There is ample parking available but please be courteous of others using the shopping village. If you can park along the wooden fence at the very bottom of the car park (next to the dove houses) that would be great, this also allows you to be very close to the entrance of the Dog garden.
Please feel free to pop in and visit the lovely local shops at the Shopping Village, there is a cafe, sweet shop, pet shop and many more. The cafe offers a ‘takeaway’ option so your welcome to grab a cup of coffee to warm you up before you go for your walk, just make sure your litter goes home with you.
If you notice something has been damaged PLEASE contact me, as it may have been the person before you or it could have been someone else and the police will need to be notified.
If you or your dog damages anything within the garden - fence, play equipment, digs a hole, kills a toys etc that do not belong to you, then YOU as the owner will be held responsible. You will either be required to replace what you have damaged or help to fix it. If I feel that the incident could of been easily prevented and it was just lack of care and duty to watch your dog (or children) then I have absolutely no tolerance for it and will result in an instant ban. I wish that the Dog Garden is treated with respect as it is a life line for so many that use it. Accidents do happen and honesty costs nothing, I would rather you contact me immediately should your dog cause damage than me turn up and find the garden ruined.
Should you result in having an instant ban from the Dog Garden there will be NO refund offered and any sessions paid for in advance will be used to repair the damages caused by either yourself, your children or your dog.
Once you have finished your session please make sure you lock up appropriately behind you, even if there is a car waiting to go in after you. If they are supposed to be there they will have a code. I've had a few people just turn up expecting to be able to use it, if this happens I have no idea who they are and could damage the place leaving you with the blame!!! So please lock up when you leave.
The most important rule of all is ENJOY yourself, relax and enjoy watching your dog run free.
